Not a bad idea! Not sure how practical it'll be, but I'll give it a try.

We use alot of kool aid in my house. i haven't noticed this problem with ours. I pour the powder in then put the water in and stir. You could also just switch to drinking the watermelon-kiwi kool aid which is clear. We put Splenda in ours too just fyi.

Keep in mind that I'm a mom to a 2 year old. =)

Red is the most stubborn of all colors to clean. Use your bath tub is the only place that I could suggest to make it?

I put a little water in the pitcher, then I hold the pitcher in one hand, away from the counter, and pour the powder into the water carefully.

A little powder may poof out, but it goes onto the (moppable, non-stainable) floor, or disperses, instead of the counter.

You could always hold the container over the bathtub, too! Maybe with the shower running.

Mostly, I avoid those weird chemical powders though. I keep imagining them in my lungs if I breathe, or the rest of my body, if I drink the drink made from them.

I've been making a lot of tea and lemonade lately - you can seriously sugar-control those (lemon juice has minimal sugar, and it's fruit sugar) tea has none unless you add it. Lemonade takes exactly the same time to make (from bottled juice) as a powder drinks. Tea take a little more prep.

You can also add stuff to both tea and lemonade to spruce it up. If you have a blender, you can puree real fruit, like strawberries, blackberries, etc. and add it to either tea or lemonade.

Wait! Do you have a vacuum cleaner, or one of those range-top smoke-sucky things? : )
