What A Kick!

Jul 26, 2007 12:28

Thanks to the largesse of two LJ friends who donated leftover time on their paid accounts to little old Guavmom, I now have a paid account. Thanks to the time and trouble of my own dear Guav, I now have an actual layout for my journal! I like it. Go check it out, and see what you think. It wasn't precisely what Dr. Guavmom ordered, but it works ( Read more... )

the new layout looks great!

Like you I think patchouli is, well how do I say this nicely? An aquired scent for some? Definitely not for me. I'd like to think I'm a lavender kind of girl. haha

Either way that's quite nice of you. :)

Hope you have a beautiful day Jill!

Thanks, hon! Yes, I can always count on my Guavie to do right by his old Mumsie!

I'm so glad to read of your doings, and especially your sustaining and , (finally!), happy relationship with Rueben. Guess some things are worth waiting for, eh? I am also glad that you have made the adjustment to living on The Other coast!

Those children you babysit ARE flat out adorable!

Keep it real, Dom! <3 Guavmom

Your journal looks great! I didn't realize you had gotten another dog. I either missed the posting or you were waiting until the right time to tell Guav. hahaha

Thanks! my Guav rules! ( Of course, I did tell him what I wanted, and this is close enough to what was in my mind's eye).

The latter, not the former, and I got the lecture anyway. hahaha

(There IS no right time to tell Guav that I have another mouth to feed) He accuses me of always trying to save the world, and never putting myself and my needs first. He knows me too well.
But really, don't you think it's kind of a woman thing? Definitely a MOM thing, anyway. I told himit wasn't a matter of me needing another dog. Diamondneeded me..... and that "was all she wrote!"

Getting the Lecture naomi_sue July 26 2007, 22:36:51 UTC
I suppose it's the natural order of life. We spend the early part of their years lecturing them and they spend the latter lecturing us. Thing is, they don't know what we know and have learned and someday they are going to get the same lectures.

And, it's definitely a maternal thing, and if Diamond needed you, what's a Guavmom to do? Why nurture of course! That's what good Momma's do. ;)

You know what, Cheryl? I don't really know the lowdown yet. That's just how nerdy I'm not.

BTW: I have three herbal cosmetics books that I have had sitting hre to tell you about:
1) Natural Beauty At Home...Janice Cox
2) The Herbal Home Spa...Greta Breedlove
3) Herbs For Natural Beauty...Rosemary Gladstar

I like the journal layout!

I never liked Patchouli much. More of a lavender or frankincense guy. =)

Yeah, Patchouli sucks, but it is a fairly nice looking plant. I prefer lavender myelf. And, like I said, the lemon scented herbs. Pelargoniums too. But Basil and Rosemary also make me swoon.

Frankincense and Myrrh! Yeah, baby! And thanks again for the paid account time. More photos my friend?
There was a doe and her twin fawns across the road from me this morning, way at the back of the recently hayed field.

Do you remember my friend, Bill, who stayed here while I was downstate this winter, visiting my father? Well, his two brothers, locally referred to as "the boys", rescued Diamond, and one of her half grown puppies, from a neighbor. Their neighbors had a trailer full of cts, dogs, pup, and kittens. The landlord put his foot down and demanded that they cull their pet population ( ... )
