Men! What the hell is it about them, some defective gene? Like they're all about overkill, and destructive tendencies,( in general), and women are more about subtlety, trying to work with rather than against, and less invasive actions ( Read more... )

I'm not having a very good Man week so I'm probably not very objective, however, I agree with you. It drives me bonkers when men do their craziness. It always seems to be overkill. It's either they do nothing, or they do it to the extreme. Rarely is there ever any consistency ( ... )

My mother drives me insane with her fondness for painfully strong cleaning products. She's uses bleach and ammonia on everything and in high concentrations. My skin goes into itchy rashes and drives me crazy when I'm exposed to it. I understand being clean, but really...can we at least TRY to rinse off the residue? Vinegar is a GREAT product that doesn't kill me or the environment.

Some people are just crazy.

Yes, I buy white vinegar by the gallon. Also, Tea Tree (Melaleuca) oil, diluted with water, is a good disinfectant. There are other essential oils that are also good for this purpose.

Mom, it served an evolutionary purpose .... we're ingrained with the "kill everything" gene that enabled us to keep our small bands of humans alive when faced with tigers, bears and all the other threats we faced when we were living in caves and shit. We had to go out at slay huge animals to feed you.

...and innocent, non-threatening plant life? Now that we get our foods from the grocery store, and what not. Evolve, dammit!

As you know, evolution takes thousands and thousands of years ... we in the west have only had to stop fighting for our lives in the last few hundred years. Sorry.
