I got all the lovely details, of which we women are so fond: the ceremony plans, ( a former priest officiating, with a harpist playing celtic music in the background), the menu, the wedding gown, ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday to Guav! naomi_sue September 2 2007, 09:09:30 UTC
Wow, I would have never guessed Guav to be turning 35. My eldest/ a son is 30, soon to be 31. Your Guav and my Bam-Bam are total kindred spirits. He and his wife are much like Bea and Gauv. Where does the time go?

Unrelated Question anonymous September 4 2007, 20:04:27 UTC
Hello there, its SwtFlGidget here...posting from work I'm afraid. I was sitting here and realized that why you're in New York! And upstate at that! And I just started working to bring our civic engagement initiative Seniors4Kids to New York State. I'm looking for older adults (which we loosely term as age 50+, isnt that nice?) across the state who are interested in serving as ELDER Captains which are essentially grassroots organizers for our efforts. We're having an upcoming training with our partner in Albany on October 4th so I'm aggressively looking for people to sign on board and attend the training if possible. I don't know if you would be interested or perhaps know people across the state who might be as well/instead, but thought I would throw it out there. If you are go ahead and email me at work at cwilker@gu.org.

Thanks Guavmom!

Sweetie, I would be interested, but sadly, at the present, I am lacking transportation. It's a shame too, because I am a really good organizer and networker, and I love kids. Send me some more info, and there might be a way I could be of help.

Ok, mom, this is a test. anonymous September 21 2007, 18:20:31 UTC
Click the little eye icon on this comment. It will change from a regular eye to a crossed out eye (because it's showing you what pressing the icon will do, not the comment status, which seems a little counterintuitive to me).

It should then tell you the comment has been unscreened. To re-screen it, click the crossed out eye icon.

By the way, this will only be an issue on your older or unprotected entries, obviously, since non-LJ friends of yours will not be able to comment on friends-only entries, since they cannot see them, of course.
