Weather Or Not

Sep 27, 2007 07:11

The sunny days we've been enjoying this past week have given way to clouds and rain, but it's of the gentle, cleansing,soothing variety, that is easily as welcome as the energizing sunfilled days just past. Sometimes the weather seems to be so in synch with one's current emotions, or spirit's needs. Have you ever noticed that in your lives ( Read more... )

Is that a beagle in your icon photo? We have a beagle, named Spencer, and we love him to bits. That's him in my icon.

What a cutie! That Spencer sits well for his portrait, doesn't he? No, that is my old buddy, Poco. He is a collie/bassett mix, and I love HIM to bits. I do, however have a recently acquired through adoption, beagle named Diamond. She's a sweetie, but rather a pain in the butt!

Yes, beagles CAN be oh-so-beagly (PITB). The one worst problem (besides being smelly and LOUD) is that when they get loose they run and run and run wherever their noses take them. We've had Spencer for 4 years and we love him. He was a pound rescue, and had never even SEEN the inside of a house, let alone lived in one in a civilized manner. Now he is wonderfully adapted, and a real snugglebug.

Sometimes it takes a "restful" day; mentally, emotionally and physically; to get us back to the point where we CAN take on the daunting pile of chores we set ourselves to doing. Today has been mine--I think I've slept almost 12 hours since eleven last night ( ... )

Yes, I too found that the full spectrum light bulbs helped. I no longer have the option of going for those winter walks I once so loved. Although I had knee replacement surgery last summer, ( not this one just past), I'm still not up to walking distances. My back and my other knee are not doing so well either. Now, I try to get outside and ride my stationary bike which is on my west facing, covered porch, every afternoon, in lieu of the walks, and get the dual benefits of the sunlight and the exercise.

I do remain mindful of all the other natural factors you mentioned in paragraph three. And, despite the colder winter temps., I always keep a window cracked for fresh air. ;

Thanks for "caring enough to send the very best"....advice, that is. ;)

Awww, don't pay any attention to the advice. I shed advice the way cats adore catnip--it's just a habit.

My back bothers me a bit too. I trenched over 100' around my new flowerbed using a spade fork while SITTING DOWN IN A CHAIR. I know I must have looked a sight, but it sure helped me get the job done.
Healing up from knee surgery while dealing with other health problems...that's enough to depress anyone. My best wishes to you!

Ouch! Who cares what it looks like, just so the job gets done, right? I let go of my vanity several years ago.
I don't mind advice....I'm quick to give it too. I hate to see anyone suffering needlessly if I know of something that might help them. You get to to my age, (61 in November), and you better have picked up some wisdom along the way, or you're nothing but an old fart!
