ok, with this one, i have no idea whats going to happen, im just writing as i go
"RUN, HERMIONE!" harry sat up in bed fast, grabbing his wand in fear. he had woken to a bloodcurdling shreik, and now he could hear a commotion in the kitchen. it was hermione's father who had warned hermione. he dashed out of his room into the hall, seeing ron and hermione burst of of their own doors, faces white with fear. they looked at each other, and then all three dashed into the kitchen to see what was wrong. they stopped in the doorway, horror-struck. there in the kitchen was the dead body of mr. granger, eyes wide with fear, and spread through the kitchen were several death eaters, looking around stealthily. one turned to the doorway and saw them.
"there they are!" he yelled, pointing.
"RUN!" yelled harry, and the trio split up, heading in different direction. harry saw the death eaters split up, so that he and both of his friends had a pack of persuers. he knew he would have to find the two of them so that they could make a plan. however, for now, all he could do was run.
or fight. harry stopped and turned, facing the death eaters. there was nowhere he could run, and so why make capture easy for the bastard death eaters. pointing his wand, he yelled, "STUPIFY!" he watched as one of the death eaters fell to the ground, and then turned and ran up the stairs, pointing his wand over his shoulder and yelling jinxes. he ran into the room where he had stayed and barricaded the door. thanking his lucky stars that the trio had planned to leave the next day and had already packed, he looked at his trunk. now, in most deadly situations, he would have left his belongings behind, knowing that it would be a foolish and costly risk to try and save his possesions. however, he knew that he would need all that he owned in the future, his invisibility cloak especially, and perhaps the marauders map. he had barricaded his door with several spells and even furniture, but he knew this would not last long. he had to think quickly. he let hedwig out of her cage first.
"fly, hedwig," he said to her. "its not safe here. fly!" with that, he tossed her out the window, turning back to his trunk without stopping to watch hedwig soar in the moonlight. he pointed his wand at his trunk. "non promptus," he muttered, remembering the spell hermione had taught him. his trunk disappeared, but harry did not stop there. he pointed his wand at the space where his now invisible trunk was, and muttered, "aer potior," knowing his invisibly trunk was now floating in the air, carried by the air surrounding it.
harry turned to look at the door, watching it move as the death eaters banged against it, listening as they muttered various countercurses. the journey had changed now, he knew. voldemort had started looking for him, perhaps because he had learned of harry, ron, and hermione's absense from the school. he knew that now they would not be able to travel conviently, to do as they pleased. they would have to travel quickly, quietly, and in secret. they would be like fugitives, running from lord voldemort, hoping to grow stronger before he found them. this trunk would be a burden, he knew, and no others could be taken. however, it would not be fair to ron and hermione to have all of his own possesions and make them leave behind their own. and, he knew, they both possesed several valuable items that would be needed in the future as well. harry thought of a plan. "augeo maximo," he muttered, pointing at his invisible floating trunk. his trunk would now be large enough to carry all of hermione and ron's possesions as well. now he had to get out of the room and into ron's and hermione's. he hoped he would find them along the way, so they could escape together. he looked over at the window through which hedwig had flown. he knew he did not have time to think about this. already the door of the room was breaking, and death eater's masked faces or hands were slightly visible. he grabbed at the air, finding his trunk handle, and shoved it out the window. then, still holding his trunk, he stepped out the window, floating to the ground thanks to his floating trunk. as soon as his feet touched the ground, harry began to run, pulling his trunk through the air behind him.
"harry!" came a whispered yell from behind him. harry stopped and turned sharply, recognizing the voice.
"hermione, thank goodness you're all right. what happened?"
hermione stepped out of the bushes, her face as white as the moon floating above the house. "well, i went outside immediately, knowing i had a better chance of getting away from them out here. then i ran fast enough to lose them, and then i hid here to wait for you and ron, since i couldn't apparate away and leave the two of you behind. the death eaters looked for me, but i used a few good spells to keep hidden. and then they went back inside."
"wow, hermione. you did really well. now, i have a plan. i'm going to grab your stuff and ron's and put it in my trunk. they would destroy it otherwise, and you and i both know we will need this stuff later. in the meantime, you try and find ron. then we'll all meet back here and together we'll get out of here." hermione nodded, being brave despite the tremors of her body. harry grabbed her hands and squeezed them. "we'll make it through this. the three of us, we'll be okay. hermione, you are the bravest girl i have ever met. you could have made a glorious ravenclaw, but the hat finally put you in gryffindor. and i am honored to call myself your friend. now let's go." he hugged her tightly, and then sprinted away towards ron's room's window, watching hermione creep, shaking in the moonlight, towards the other side of the house. when he reached ron's window, which was thankfully on the first floor, he yanked it open and crept inside, dragging his trunk in after him. he opened both his own and ron's trunks, grabbing ron's possesions and placing them in his own enlarged trunk as fast as he could. when he was done, he hid ron's trunk, not wanting the death eaters to find it and figure out what he was doing. then he thought about how he would get to hermione's room without being seen. his mind flashed back to the night when he had first been taken to grimmauld place, when the gaurd needed to be able to move effeciantly and not let harry be seen. he tapped himself on the head, remembering the incantation the half-blood prince had scribbled in a corner of the invisibilitly potion page of his old advanced potion-making book. placing his wand into his dissalusioned pocket, he found his trunk in the air and pulled it quietly through the door behind him. he crept around the house to hermione's room, thankfully not meeting any death eaters along the way. he packed up hermione's things and hid her trunk as well, listening as one death eater yelled from his own room, "DAMN! HE'S NOT HERE! WHERE THE BLOODY HELL DID HE GO?"
he grinned, sneaking out of hermione's window as he had snuck out of his own. he ran back to the bushes where hermione had hid, lifting the dissallusion charm, and waited. finally he heard running feet and hermione came into view, dragging ron behind him.
"harry! thank goodness! i found ron, and i already explained what you were doing to him. did you get everything?"
"yea, i did. we're all set."
"good, now all we need to do is figure out how to get out of here, and where we're going to go."
"well, i would have thought that was obvious. we're going to go to Godrick's Hollow. we obviously can't go back to the burrow, they'll be looking for us there." harry stopped at ron's alarmed noise. "don't worry, ron. nobody's there, remember? now, back to what i was saying. we can't go there, and it's much too risky to go to the headquarters, in case they manage to follow us, something i want to make sure doesn't happen anyways. we have nowhere else to go. voldemort knows me well. he'll have death eaters at all the obvious places, like diagon alley or, as i've already said, the burrow. but he won't think of godrick's hollow. he doesn't think me strong enough to return there. and even if he does, he would never go there himself. it was the place where he nearly met his downfall."
hermioen looked at him silently. "alright, then it's settled. now, we have to figure out how to leave. some way that's quick, and doesn't leave a trail that they could follow." she looked at the two boys. "we have to apparate. that's the only way. we've practised enough times, you've been getting it right. now's the ultimate test. this is a matter of life and death. you have to do it. now, we'll do it together, on the count of three. i'll even help you two. i mean, i've never done a side-along-apparition, but you two will be apparating yourselves anyways, so it won't be hard. now, let's go." she grabbed both boys' hands, closing her eyes tightly. harry and ron hastily did the same.
"one..." harry sat with his eyes shut, remembering godric's hollow. he did not know exactly what it looked like, for he had not gone there since he was a year and a half. he did, however, have a memory. a memory of his parents, watching him joyfully as he crawle about a strange room, exploring it thoroughly. he played this image over and over in his head, not letting any thoughts but that enter his mind. 'godric's hollow, godric's hollow' chanted his mind, a firm mantra repeating itself constantly in his mind."
"two..." at this particular moment, harry wanted to go to godric's hollow more than he had wanted to go anywhere in his entire life. he wanted to go there more tha he had wanted to go to hogsmead in third year. he wanted to go there more than he had wanted to go to hogwarts every summer since he was eleven. he wanted to go there even more than he had wanted to go and live with sirius, ever since the proposition had been made to him.
"three!" harry turned, still clutching hermione's hand. when he opened his eyes, he was standing in the middle of a cemetary, ron and hermione at his side.
