I was so excited when that passed. I know that fostering is different, but it protects animals from hoarders, makes it harder for breeders, keeps animals from being all cramped up.... makes me happy.

Yeah. I'm glad it passed too. I still have mixed feelings about the restrictions for breeders, but it looks like they're going to allow mixed breeds if the breeder has gone through some sort of course. I can handle that. My problem was they were only giving the breeder possibility to AKC pure breds in the beginning.

I also think that there should be a city limit on animals within the city limits. 4 for an apt and 6 for a home is Plenty. Actually, most rentals only allow 2, so that's already more than the norm. It's going to be really hard to police, though. At least at first. They're going to have to get really dedicated to the cause. I think that the new Director of Animal Services is a step in that direction, though. He's from Houston and I believe Houston is a lot more active with their Animal Control/SPCA departments than Dallas has ever been.
