Well, today I had my first day at my new job. I'm now spending the next year (well, roughly year) doing data entry for Bank of New York Mellon. I know a lot of people were happy for me about that- and again, I thank you- and so I felt I ought to provide a run-down of my perceptions of my first day

Well, it seems to be reasonably pleasant work... hope things are progressing well there!

It seems like that's kind of how temp work goes- you're basically invisible, but the people you directly interact with are really glad you're there. That's how it was when I did temp work, anyway... but you're actually getting training now, so it might turn out different.

I'm not certain as to my level of invisibility. I know in my last place, I was treated like one of the gang, but that place was the exception to a lot of rules, I feel. I am settling in a bit more by this point, however, and my co-workers continue to be pleasant people. So that's a good thing.
