A Game of Christmas Wishes

Well, all right, not really a game, unless you want it to be. But you probably all know the drill by now. You make a list of ten things you would like to get for Christmas, and post it here. It can be an utterly realistic wish list for your friends, a whimsical exploration of stuff you would love to have but never expect to actually receive, or ( Read more... )

>>3. Materials to begin learning to use the sewing machine I acquired on Sunday; say, patterns, reference books, cheap fabric to practice with, nice material to work with once I get some education in, etc.>>

Iiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! XD *ahem*

I have some reference books if you'd like to borrow them, as a start, anyway.

Most of my fabric is in odds and ends of a yard or less, but if you could make any use of that for practice, you're quite free to raid it. Most of the pieces are enough to make an accessory or something else small, but not a whole garment.

(See, this is what happens when you hear of someone taking up your drug of choice. Haha. also, I still owe something from a Christmas wishlist post from long ago, ACK)

On the contrary, your excitement makes me happy. :) I will happily accept whatever advice you can offer me! I would be pleased to borrow some of those reference books. And if you have any small scraps you know you won't ever use, I'll take them as well, with a smile. Even if i just stitch them all together into a piece of patchwork nonsense, it would be a start. Then I could at least work on how to attach things together, hem, etc. I'm just getting started, so I need to start at that most basic level.

I have boxes and boxes, so if you'd like to go through it and pick out whatever you want, that would be great. Basically, I keep everything I have left over from projects, pick up interesting things here and there, and eventually I amassed quite a stockpile. (This is a common "sickness" among all sorts of hobbyists. :P)

Most of it is just there until I can think of something to do with it; it doesn't have a particular destination. So don't worry about that.
