"I made her laugh, I made her cry. Cleared her head and made her wonder why. I helped her live then made her want to die. But she can't complain. No she can't complain...I told her I could love her, I told her I could lie....so she can't complain ( Read more... )

Oh dear. Joey's been making you listen to Nickel Creek, hasn't he? And to my LEAST favorite song on that album too.
They're my favorite band, by the way ;). Don't get me started...

Oh my gosh, I love them too! Yeah I was at Joey's house one evening and he said "oh I found this band that I really like and I think you'll like them too" and then we listened to one of their albums about four times in a row (the one with Doubting Thomas on it). Then he put this and two others (Doubting Thomas and Somebody more like you) on a mix tape for me, and now I'm making him burn all their cds for me. They are awesome! I could tell you liked them from your profile and your comment on Joey's myspace:). I know this song is pretty sad and cruel, but I like it in a strange way.

I think it shows a little less lyrical sophistication than I'm used to hearing from Chris. Whenever I hear "because I'm a guy" I retch. Not that Chris-poo wouldn't know about innate maleness, just that he didn't provide SUPPORT for his claim. If you like their instrumentals, you should bug me to burn one of Chris Thile's solo albums for you. Sean Watkins has solo albums too, but I haven't downloaded them yet.
My favorite song from Chris is a toss up between "Doubting Thomas" (on Why Should the Fire Die?) and "Green and Gray" (on This Side). My favorite Sean Watkins song is probably "Somebody More Like You" but then again the lyrical content of "Seven Wonders" (on This Side) is ZOMG awesome. Sarah...doesn't really write lyrics, bless her heart.
GREAT musical arrangement, excellent content, clear-toned young voices...what's not to love?
