Weekend updates seem to be one of the all-time favorite activities of blog writers and here I am, inevitably, jumping on the bandwagon ( Read more... )

Only three days in Paris? Dommage. Be sure to join the Eiffel Tower Sex Club, like you were telling me all about ( ... )

Hrmph. If you must know I revisited the ugly lands of LJ pretty much just for you. I still don't see why you're so biased. I've found some very very cool people on xanga, and there are idiots everywhere.

I know...only three days. I trust my friends to take me where I need to go, and I'd really rahter not have a "must see" list of anything (besides, I've been there'n'done that years ago). At the very least, I figure it'll be an amusing smorgasbord of expat Americans, French, and Francophile Africans. I'll do my best to be my prettiest and most charming representative self of the Far East (har har).

Knightley is a shade annoying, you're right, and it's because she doesn't know how to handle her beauty yet. Yeah, just like how Winona never learned how, and fails to be gracious about her beauty.

I don't think such crises are inherently trivial, either, but one must do what one can do in order not to take oneself too seriously (say that fives times, real fast!). Wheee!

So it's about looks with you, eh? Pity how much you miss. But I am touched by your effort of 2 or 3 mouse clicks just to come all the way over here.

I still don't see why you're so biased. I've found some very very cool people on xanga, and there are idiots everywhere.

But there are more idiots on xanga. And the website is neither formatted to help you find people worth knowing nor does it facilitate discussion on the odd chance one does find them.

I'm not interested in 'yo, good post' + 2 gold stars feedback. Being able to respond directly to comments on LJ makes readers a bit more likely to think before they speak. But of course why should thinking be a priority when one's got a pretty layout ( ... )

heh, but you see I don't get those "yo good post" comments...and yes yes yes I know I'm visually-oriented but I can't help it. When something doesn't look right I don't look at it. LJ a lot of times doesn't look right to me, which is why I keep changing the layout, but still bad!!! Someone should buy me a paid account so I can play house here.

About your question about interesting writers on Xanga, currently I have 29 subscriptions, out of which 11 are written by those I know from real life.

And granted, not all of these 18 people I subscribe to solely on the basis of their writing may be the most interesting or intelligent, but they do provide new perspectives, makes me think, and can on occasion cheer me up or make me laugh, and that's really all I need....after all, I don't pay for their services.

But fine, LJ IS infinitely better for discussions and exchanges of thought.
