Character: Florian
Timeline: Three years post-game.
Personality: The Florian everybody knows is a happy-go-lucky, hyper derp.
Since events in his canon, however, Florian has gotten the chance to grow up and develop a little, personality-wise. Sure, he's still just as much of a happy-go-lucky, optimistic derphead as he once was, but in the time that he's lived, it's toned down a little bit. Florian has learned a lot more about what it means to live, what it means to love, and what it means to want to protect the life he has now.
Not only has Florian become smarter in certain regards, though, he's also become emotionally stonger. He's very optimistic, always looking on the bright side of everything, while knowing that there is also a lot of pain and strife that comes with living life. Florian has come to treasure every experience he's had in life, and he doesn't take it for granted at all.
He's a very friendly boy, and he has an easy time making friends. He's still a little naive, and some jokes his friends make are not always things he understands, but it's part of his charm. He gets teased a lot for being naive, but he tends to take it in stride, if it doesn't completely go over his head to begin with.
The number one most important person in his life is Anise. She's the one person that Florian will do anything, anything at all for. He took up swordsmanship to be able to help others in need, but one of the people he wanted to help and protect the most was Anise. It's fair to say that Anise is Florian's inspiration for a lot of the things that he does. He would go through hell and back to make sure she was protected, happy, and well.
This, of course, also sort of makes him kind of clingy to her.
Florian isn't the type of person who stays sad for very long. Sure, he's only human. Sort of. He's not always going to have the right amount of optimism for every situation, and he's definitely going to have his moments where he's just horribly emotional. However, he recovers very quickly, and he tries to help others recover just as quickly. Sometimes, though, he doesn't quite realize that everybody recovers from bad experiences at their own rates, and because of this, when people don't perk up quite to the level that he's at, it frustrates him. He keeps trying, though. Sometimes to a point where it gets a little annoying.
Background: Florian is the sixth Ion Replica, created for the purpose of replacing the dying Fon Master Ion. Upon his creation, Florian was judged as being too weak to become the replica replacement for the Fon Master, and tossed aside like an item. It was his younger 'brother,' the seventh replica, who would be judged as good enough to replace the Fon Master.
He had been tossed aside with three of the other replicas, and was the last remaining survivor of the four of them. During the time that he was with them, and during the time that he saw his 'brothers' die one at a time, he started to develop emotions, and a little bit of an understanding of them. In addition to emotions, he began to attain the instinct to survive. He found food in flowers, and soon after, mice.
He was found by Grand Maestro Mohs a few months later, who was impressed with how one of the weaker replicas had survived. Florian was then put under Mohs' care for a short time, to be used as a backup plan in the case that the seventh replica did not serve his purpose.
Later, he would become useful to them. The seventh replica passed away while being forced to read the score (and while taking the tainted seventh fonons which were poisoning Tear, the main heroine), and so the sixth replica had been retrieved to read the seventh fonstone, after which he was all but abandoned. So that the little Ion replica would not be abandoned, the main group of heroes takes him back to Daath after that event. He became quite attached to one of the youngest of the group, Anise, and she ultimately ended up giving him his name: Florian.
At first, Florian was very shy. He hid behind Anise, and only really put his full trust in her. So when she left with the rest of the group in their quest to save the world, Florian was left under the care of Anise's parents ... and he was very, very awkward. Especially since most everybody in Daath looked at him as if he were his younger brother. Anise was the only one who had seen him as being different, which was why he trusted her. At some point while he was being taken care of, however, Florian managed to start feeling more comfortable around the Tatlins, and then started to feel more comfortable around more and more people.
After Anise came back to Daath once their journey was over, Florian started to spend more and more time with her, and became closer than ever to her. As he grew up, he also grew stronger; not quite physically stronger, as he was still quite frail. After hearing stories of the things his younger brother had done for Daath, and for the world, Florian decided that he wanted to do something to protect the world, and the people within it as well ... especially Anise, who he had come to see as his most treasured person (and someone he loved very much). He had seen Luke and Guy practicing with swords, and one day, finally got the courage to ask them to teach him a few things. He was clumsy, and nearly hurt himself many times, but Florian had made up his mind: he was going to learn proper swordsmanship, in order to protect the ones he loved.
Florian started learning swordsmanship shortly afterward, and within the next year, he had gotten fairly decent. He joined the guards at Daath, while supporting Anise in her ambassador and hopeful female fon master endeavors.
One day, however, would test his skills.
A Maestos meeting was taking place, and a terrorist attack had broken out. Anise had been taken captive by a radical score supporter group, and they mistreated her horribly during the time they had her captive. Florian heard of this and instantly ignored everything else in lieu of going to find her and save her. He found her, and, determined to save the person he loved most in the world, fought the group in order to get to her and free her. By the time he had come, she was already unconscious, and despite being fairly injured from the battle himself and naturally frail and weak, he freed her and carried her to safety.
He didn't think Anise knew it was him who had rescued her. He decided not to bring it up. She was probably already damaged enough from what had happened. After this incident, Florian became extremely clingy and overprotective of Anise, and the two became closer than ever. Florian eventually recovered and returned to his duties while also spending as much time as possible with Anise, who had eventually decided to stay in Daath, rather than remain as an ambassador.
Life continued on as normal.
Of course, their lives could never remain normal for too long.
Abilities/Additional Notes:
Reading the Score | This is the reason why he was created; to be a replica of the late Fon Master Ion, and to be able to read the score, which is comprised of the seventh fonon. As the score does not exist in Paradise, this ability will be rendered fairly useless. It's still worth a mention, though, due to the importance of this ability in relation to Florian's very existence.
Daathic Fonic Artes | It's unknown whether or not Florian knew any daathic fonic artes in canon, due to the fact that he was kept as a backup in the case that his little brother, the Seventh Ion Replica, should fail in his duties. My perception of Florian is that he does, in fact, know some of the Daathic Fonic Artes. However, his are significantly weaker than those of his younger brother's. Florian can't do quite as much damage with these artes as Ion could, and he doesn't like to use them because of how much it exhausts him. He only uses them as a last resort, as they're slightly more powerful than his usual swordsmanship.
Swordsmanship | In order to better help Anise people, Florian decided he was going to take up swordsmanship. He learned a little from Luke in his timeline, but ended up taking professional lessons at some point, and while he's not as great as he could be due to his frail stature, he's fairly decent and he continues to practice so that he can become better with it and protect what's important to him.
Advocate Note:: Florian’s upbringing, alongside stories of his late ‘brother’ have given him the inspiration he needs to be a leader and take control of things. As he was also raised in a religious setting, he would be a little more willing to listen to any gods or deities that decide to speak to him and do their bidding.
In short, yes, I would like for him to be an advocate, if that’s all fine and dandy.
