[ The video feed shifts on, and here's Klavier. He seems to be thinking of some sort of song in his head, because it seems like he's also looking for the best way to phrase what he wants to say. ] I've been to a lot of out of the way places to study foreign legal systems; tiny countries. Perhaps no larger than where we are now, even... and yet they

I agree. So far, we haven't had much trouble, but if kind people can be drawn here, the unkind might appear as well. Now that we're here, we should do whatever we can to keep this place safe. Until we find a way out, Vatheon is our home.
I'm not a knight or anything of the sort, but if you ever have need of healing magic, please feel free to ask me.

That's exactly my point. Though speaking with one of the residents here, she seemed far too positive, but I'm a realist.
[ He chuckles absently. Magic? He doesn't really believe it, but he won't correct her. ] I'm not a knight, either--nor am I a judge. It's my job to make sure threats to society are locked up tight; that's what being a prosecutor means to me, aside from revealing the truth.

[ Why yes, those are lyrics he's singing. ] Ah, the Jailhouse Blues. We'd hardly have the Blues to sing if we lack a jail to compose the music in! How right you are.

I, for one, think it's an excellent suggestion.

... I'm a prosecutor. Perhaps I'm just cynical due to what I've seen, but if--and I'm only proposing an if--a murder took place, we need to be able to make sure there are repercussions for this.

Some would say that such a thing would invite crime. There are those who act merely to provoke the law. And would your system extend to those who have lived here for their lives? What if they were the murderer - what need would their be for one to be, as you put it, pulled in?

... You assume I haven't considered this.

Secondly, I wanted to study Vatheon's legal system. I wanted to know if there was one before I just jumped in headfirst. They have no problem with crime amongst their own citizens, apparently... which is logical, when you consider the situation everyone is in.

... And I thought I was cynical. Why, compared to you, my outlook is downright cheery. Tell me, why isn't there a need? Can you prove either? If you want to play music, then bring an instrument. If you want to play a duet in law... you bring evidence.

I'm a private detective, myself. I'll help out in any way I can.

Out of curiosity, do you have any idea how many people would be involved with this?

[ A pause. ] Hopefully they'll understand the need for SOMETHING.

Heh... you know I'm already for it.

Ah, Herr Wright. I knew you'd approve, but contacting everyone else at once, well... this is the best way to do that. I should hope we won't have a need to ever arrest anyone, however, and that this will be a deterrent from harming other individuals while we're here.
[ He was tired of doing nothing. ] I'd rather improvise a performance than not have one at all because I lack a microphone, if you catch my drift.

I hope not too, but with the types of people pulled in... Did you know there is a man here who has a gun for an arm? [He frowns and places his chin on a hand.] I heard that from Peter White. Apparently he turned into a homicidal maniac the other day because of the coral.
[He gives a small raise of the corner of his lips at the metaphor.] I think I understand, Mr. Gavin.

But really: a gun? ... In his arm? [ Klavier laughs outright at that, not at all sparing Phoenix the least amount of dignity. Sorry, bro. ] Are you sure you haven't read one too many Westerns~? But ja, I'm well aware of him... it's he and a few others that are the very reason I want to start things on their way to a completed album versus a small one-hit-wonder of a single.
