Second Song ♫ Video

Mar 28, 2010 14:07

[ The video feed shifts on, and here's Klavier. He seems to be thinking of some sort of song in his head, because it seems like he's also looking for the best way to phrase what he wants to say. ] I've been to a lot of out of the way places to study foreign legal systems; tiny countries. Perhaps no larger than where we are now, even... and yet they ( Read more... )

I agree that we do need to be responsible for our own actions. I think a legal system is necessary, if only to remind us that there are rules which should be adhered to. I don't like to think that anyone here might have intentions of doing things which would require punishment... But they always say that it's better safe than sorry, right?

I, for one, think it's an excellent suggestion.

[ What a smart boy. Have a thoughtful hair pull from the musical prosecutor. ]

Ja, that's exactly what I'm thinking. After talking with the locals here, I don't think just following the golden rule is a safe enough assumption.

... I'm a prosecutor. Perhaps I'm just cynical due to what I've seen, but if--and I'm only proposing an if--a murder took place, we need to be able to make sure there are repercussions for this.

Oh, I see! In that case, I understand why it was on your mind. Like I said, I don't want to think that it is something we'll have to worry about, but rules are the basis of any sort of organization. Especially since we all seem to come from different backgrounds, it's a good idea to get together and make sure everyone's on the same page.

I bet you get straight A's on all your tests, don't you?

[ He chuckles. ] Even if no one died or was mortally wounded, the fact remains it covers a vast amount of things and helps to keep some form of normality in one's life, ja?

... It's essential it be enforced, in other words. No good can come if you simply get a little slap on the wrist for stealing and murdering, you know?

[Awww, you're embarrassing him!]

Ahaha, well, I have to study really hard, and I still don't manage it all the time.

I think you're right about that. Even if the need never arises-- and I hope it doesn't-- it does keep a sense of normality. Furthermore, I think it might bring us foreigners together a little. Sort of like we're united.

We NEED to be united. We're all in the same situation, are we not~?

[ Hm... thoughtfully, he adds: ] By the way, what exactly ARE you studying for, if you don't mind my asking? I'm a little curious. I started prosecuting when I was seventeen, myself; studying is boring, but it's essential. You look over documents often in law.

Yes, I agree! That means no matter what, we already have one thing in common.

Me? Oh, ah... Well, I haven't fully decided just yet, but I'm sort of hoping to go into journalism.

Achtung, now that is what I'm saying. A wall with holes in it is going to collapse, after all.

[ ... Ah, journalism. ] That's refreshing to hear, really. Good press is hard to come by at times, so I tend to keep the same people in mind whenever my band needs coverage, or I need publicity for a case.

Oh, you're a musician as well as a prosecutor? That's impressive!

That I am! Klavier Gavin, prosecutor and god of rock, at your service~

[ He lacks humility in a big way. ] My band is composed of people who share my passion for music, as well as enforcing the law. They're my allies in court, and my friends. It's a good message to the youth scene, really.

Wow, I'll say! I admire your passion on both respects.

My name is Silabus. I can't say I have anything really impressive on my record just yet, but hopefully that will change someday.

You have a memorable name, though. And a name is just as important as the person behind it.

[Oh man, you're good. :( Silabus turns away from the screen for a moment since he can feel himself blushing.]

You really think so?... Thanks.

Everyone starts somewhere; believing is half the battle. You just have to get a feel for what works for you; mean what you say and do, jump in headfirst, and all that.

[ Klavier seems to be considering it, and finds himself thinking about someone he knows. ] ... I've met someone unhappy with their career choice, and well... let's just say you don't want to end up as grumpy as the Fräulein Detective.

[You may now have another fan.]

You're right. I have to make sure it's what I want and then go all out with it. A dream's only worth fighting for so long as it's really what you want to come true.
