The light through the window gives everything a shimmer of dusty gold. Her hands move calmly, smoothing the faded patchwork quilt, tugging and fussing and tucking to get it just so. The sheet, clean and white, folds back over the quilt, revealing the nicely fluffed pillow.

Thanks :-). I want to write humour, but I keep coming back to angst *screams* as I find it a whole lot easier to write. Which is funny really, as when I write my own original stuff rather than fanfic I can't sustain any kind of serious scenes!

Thanks :-) Much as I would love to write happy fluff, I seem to have developed a knack for writing about grieving for your children or loved ones. What can I say? 2007 has been tough so I've had a lot of material to work from :-/ (Mercifully, no one died...)

And ta for letting me know where my favourite icon came from - my LJ skills are full of fail, unfortunately, so I often struggle to make things work properly.
