but but if we TELL them about sex, and pass out free condoms, they're be screwing around like bunnies! like *gasp* WE did!! No, no, no, we can't have THAT!!

My parents "talk" on the subject was - if you get pregnant, don't expect to be able to bring the baby here.

don't worry "dear" parents, your "loving" relationship scared me straight, er, sexless. to the point I do not DO penis, at all. I was an opps baby and my mother never let me forget for a moment that it was MY fault HER life was screwed up.

It wasn't until I moved to Florida and got away from her that it finally sunk in that, um, no, *I* wasn't the one who screwed around and got preggers.

but I had already vowed at the age of 12 that I was never ever having kids because I didn't want to do to them what my parents were doing to me.

and honestly, even I figured out the best way to avoid having kids was to avoid having sex at all.

only later did I realize it *was* possible to have very good sex and not with someone who could impregnate one. ;>

I started talking to Michael about it as soon as he started asking questions, which was about Kindergarten age, I think. Now he knows he can ask me ANYTHING and I will tell him straight out. I reminded him that it's better to get the truth from me than to be embarrassed in front of your friends because you got the wrong info or you just didn't know. So, is he out having sex right now? No. But when he does decide to have sex, he'll be resonsible and he won't make me a grandma anytime soon, because he knows how someone gets pregnant and how someone doesn't get pregnant.
