I saw these through Pop Candy (USA Today) a couple months ago and seriously considered doing some myself. I even have a small bag of ponies (original 1980's) in my office that were previously "furry" but over the years, are, uhm, balding, for a lack of better words.
Considering what that girl does with ponies is exactly what Kevin does with baseball/football figures (and has managed to make himself some money along the way), I can't help but think "I can SO do that! And it would be adorable artwork/crafts/time waster."
In the meantime, the ponies remain in the bag because I just don't have the time right now.
This was a long response, but man, I love genuine creativeness like this.
