Ever thought of playing in Spain btw? There's an audience for indie music here, bands from UK gig in Barcelona regularly.

There's a place in BCN called Sidecar which often has UK and Euro indie bands. Possibly also Magic. I'm sure I could dig up other places.

West African creoles with English words stretched and beaten flat like tin or rolled up into sonorous wooden tubes,

I hear that on the bus sometimes in Dalston and have to stretch my ears like a desert fox to listen.
