hi steve. i think that is a beautiful thing to do. we each need to find our ways to mark the time and the memory.

today is the first anniversary of my mother's death. it looks nice and warm outside, just like it did last year. i'm not sure what i'm going to do today, but i'm deliberately taking it easy, not going to work, not seeing anyone or doing anything that i don't want. i'm going to take a walk along the river and find a church to light a candle in. i remember last year the birds were singing and the colours in the garden looked particularly vibrant; it was all still like that when andy died too.

Thanks so much for this Charlie, it's a beautiful post and not rambling at all, but strong and expressive and honest. And very precious to know this about your relationship with Andrew.

Take very good care of yourself
