I remember when I was thinking of buying a new guitar (expensive one) I found myself saying to Andy, 'what do you think I should do?' to which his voice in my head replied: 'Don't do it!' And I said 'Why?' and he replied, 'You'll need the money!' I went ahead and bought it. But now I think about it, I don't think he ever actaully bought a new guitar, it was kind of against his principles to buy shiny new things.
yep you're right. I can understand that. I even like scuffed up, unshiny old second hand things. Before I bought the guitar I was looking for one with a worn look, you know, with a bit of character. I found a lovely one, an off-white strat with worn-away bits on the body exposing a dark grey layer underneath, but the price was outrageous and the neck was held in place by a folded piece of cardboard ..........

I also ask myself "What would Andy do?" and also "What Would Andy Say?" - to which he usually replies "Oh My!", "Really?" or "Nooo".
