Unemployment, day 2

What have I done today?

I got out of bed relatively early but went back to bed about two hours later.

Ran down to the corner market to get smokes.  Ended up spending $35 on shit including cigarettes.  I really don’t need donuts but I got some.  The whole box is now gone.

I called Fed Ex and screamed at a couple poor customer service representatives ( Read more... )

I've tried the weaning--it's hard!! Nothing lasts forever though so if it stops, it stops.

Crispy Kreme are vastly better than old Entenmann's any day. I'm jealous.

Now I know why people disallow anonymous posts. What the fuck?!? (See below.)

If I could find a way to send you CKs and have them be as fresh (and uhm cheap) as bringing some to Mr. Project ADD, I would. xoxo

Please disallow anonymous posts. It will confuse the a-holes who want to piss on the already pissed upon. He/she/it thinks that's helping, or that someone thinks it's clever?

Agreed. IMO, being able to get and document temp work during a lull ranks waaaaaay out in front of those who didn't and can't.

And although $60 isn't much more than staying home, it's more. And it's mostly renewable over time, whereas unemployment bennies have a limited distribution horizon.

Bottom line is that unless you've decided to move back to Ohio and have set a date, walking away from the temp job breaks a lot of things, starting with the relationship with Steve (was that his name, the bud who got you in the door?).

Boredom is the smallest of prices to pay. You'd be that and more if you stayed home.

As you have the same problems with the workplace, with roommates, etc over and over and over and over(1) again and kvetch and moan about it over and over and over and over again -- I MIGHT BE YOU! You could possibly be a shitty roommate - a shitty employee - a shitty family member. Shi shi shi shitty. And - let us be honest here - pill addicts do not have the best point of views; ability to examine themselves for faults and recognize them; or ability to function with other humans. It seems to me odd that you biatch ad infinitum about your family's various dysfunctions and addictions -- when they most likely think the same of you. Sir, you are a cosmicly vast hungry maw of need for reassurances you are not deserving of and affirmations of your clinicaly bad behaviours!

(1) to the 10th power.

Well you wanted to have some time to decompress and now you have had it.

Now get off your ass and go down to the One Stop Career Center or whatever they have in NYC. Lots of money and assistance there to get you back as a productive member of society.

I read you got called in for the rest of the week. That is good news. Even when you aren't scheduled to work I would suggest getting up at the same time each day and preforming your daily rituals. I have a friend who is quickly running out of unemployment and doesn't get dressed until 2 p.m. I don't see a happy future for her starting in July.

Have a great week.

Interesting hearing your voice. It's a bit Donald Sutherland-ish.
