Why the original Transformers movie is better than the new one

This quote from that article pretty much sums up my feelings about the movie:

Hey, i was saddened when Jazz was snapped just like that! =(

And yeah. It was a toy advertisement, but all the cartoons, movies and comics that came before have always served that purpose. The toys came first before the shows. Oh these Capitalists!

I agree with you on that they can have put more heart into the movie, but I'm more positive about the movie than you are.

There were some moments. *SPOILER*I'm with crisgee on Jazz - and was equally shocked when Optimus just says "Awwww, Jazz..." and pretty much forgets him.

I want to believe that most of the love goes to Bumblebee, the car that could and did. He got banged up, tortured, and lost his legs - without even doing anything to deserve it. He fought on despite all this, even despite being jury-rigged to the back of a towing truck, and scratching his bummed knees on the road. He's the hero, imho. If anything, his lack of speech made the whole experience seem less didactic, which was good.*SPOILER ( ... )
