Does anyone else have an urge to punch Bernard Madoff in the face? Seriously, this guy stole billions of dollars from individuals, schools, and charities, putting some in dire straits, and yet there he is on his way into court with an obnoxious smile on his face. Yeah, it seems likely. But it boggles the mind in a way. From that perspective, it's like life is a game and people are just pieces, and there's no meaning or consequences or anything.

Odd...you'd think that after the public's anger at the Enron executives that perhaps the judicial system would have figured out that white collar criminals should be treated just like the rest of them.

It will never work that way, as bail is a monetary issue and therefore richer people will always get better treatment than poorer ones... simply cos they've got the dough to get bail.
