As far as I'm concerned, the entire Skywalker clan whines like a bunch of little bitches. Alec Guinness Obi Wan & Ewan McGregor Obi Wan should have clocked "young Luke" and "young Anakin" over the head w/ the butt of their lightsabers every time they started whimpering ( ... )

So I'm writing from PA right after the graduation, and right before I eat something, so I'm both tired and hungry ('bout 2 hours o' sleep before stumbling on the LIRR). I'll have to post a full-blown recap when I'm not bleary-eyed. I'm still soaking it all in. And nitpicking.

Hey, I like Connelly's acting-- but also, she's hot.

Yeah, Luke was whiny, but very briefly-- it wasn't like, the core of his character, which it seemed to be with the 2 idjits who played Anakin (not counting David Prowse, who I believe was the original ROTJ maskless Darth). Luke went from going, "Aw, Uncle Owen, can't I take the car out tonight, please?" to "Hi, I'm Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you, in the span of like, 90 mins.

Battle scenes notwithstanding, the 2 prequels were fairly bereft of story and character, topped off with some bad to worse acting. And Portman looked okay, but I still think Leia smokes her.

More on all this later, fangirl.

I've decided you're partly right. :) Luke is not nearly as whiny as his pops. I actually like Jedi Luke. "This is your last chance Jabba". And he looks good in that black outfit. It really is the countering between him and Solo that makes him look annoying to me. And then on Daygobah (sp???) w/ Yoda... I get frustrated w/ him. I guess I don't question authority enough, b/c if I go to someone for help, then I'm not going to continually challenge them. Alas, it is not the actor that annoys me... Mark played Luke like he was supposed to be. And in the end it paid off. Solo is still way cooler. ;)

I've also decided that it's too late to keep talking about this shit. And that I think I'm going to go again tomorrow afternoon (even though I have plans to take my sister on Saturday). I always need a second viewing to make more judgments. And, uhhh... speculate further on Ewan McGregor's... uhhhh... role in the film. >;]
