Ok question for all of you. What do you drink? I'm surrounded by beer-snobs and mead masters, but what do you drink when you want something other than the norm? For me, rum is always good, but when I want something else I jump for a martini damn quick ( Read more... )

hmmmm...thought provoking.

A GOOD sweet wine like Eiswein, Muscato de Asti, Spatleise, etc. Plum wine is good as well...just no icky cheap wines and not Fucking Zinfendel, bleck!

Chambord...always a good choice

Froo Froo drinks, like a Brandy Alexander, Pina Colada, Margarita, etc.

Old stand-bys would include: Capt Morgan and Coke, Lemon Drop shots, and Buttery Nipples

The Norm for me: Beer or cider. The more german the name and/or malty-"or" the brew (on average) the happier I am. Kostritzer is a nice beer, Spaten Optimator (or another good doppelbock) is even better. Gigs and practice, its usually Miller Lite. But a good cider... mmm, Happy Wargod. :)

Liqueurs: I got me thing for the hunters, Jägermeister and Baronjäger.

Hard Liquors: Tequila on special occasions, vodka here and there, but I love me my whiskey, usually Jack Daniels. If I order a mixed drink, most likely it'll be a Jack and Diet Coke. If I'm drinking Jack straight up, it will be neat in a shot glass. No ice or water for me in my Jack. Not big on bourbons though, unless it's in Southern Comfort. I'll branch out in my whiskeys on occasion to include some Irish (Black Bush, Jameson, or Tullamore Dew), and I'll rarely turn down a good Scotch, especially if it is a single malt. As with the Jack, I usually prefer my whisk(e)y neat, but there are some singles that benefit from a splash of water.
