when old people were growing up they didn't have old folks homes, thus I think old people right now may not have the same feelings about them that we do. also, I certainly know there are a lot of old people that hate old folks homes because they're not independent anymore. think how much that must suck to simply have to live somewhere that's not your home any more

well yes, that's obviously an issue. but I guess what I really want to know is...if someone is telling you fifty times in this bright happy voice to eat your mushed peas, do you want to smack them upside? or is it possible to be so old that you don't notice how annoying people are?
