I'd gone into the forest following Zell's lead. I was riding on the chocobo named Cloud, Zell was riding Mako and Percy was riding the one named Zack. Yuffie had a crazy knack for naming these birds ( Read more... )

Juliet has no idea where she is, and she's mentally berating herself for getting separated like this from the group. Her feet are bleeding and sore, she's soaked through, and she's pushed herself into what she hopes is the safety of a tree. And something about it seems vaguely familiar, but all thoughts of that pushed out of her mind when she hears the roar of a dinosaur.

Closing her eyes tightly, she forces herself to breathe and concentrate on not screaming as she shakes.

"Hey," I call out at a normal level, ignoring the roaring dinosaur behind me. I've been in enough tense situations to know the importance of focusing on my task. I glance to the left and right, working Cloud in a pattern, trying to cover ground, but also looking in all the hiding spots.

I keep calling out, not too loudly so as to draw the attention of the beast behind us nor to attract the attention of anything else wandering through the area.

Juliet hears a voice and for a moment, isn't sure if she should look or not. But finally she does, her heart pounding as she sees the huge bird looking...thing. She's too shocked to say anything.

Where the hell was she?

I'm starting to wonder if I just thought I saw someone run off and that I'll never find her because she doesn't exist. Thankfully she steps out from behind some trees and Cloud is making his way to her without my direction.

"Hey," I say in greetings. "Give me your hand." I offer her my hand and hope she's smart enough to take hold and let me pull her up.
