yup, the one I have is "shin megami tensei 3: nocturne" for playstation 2. Shin megami tensei and shin megami tensei 2 were on the super nintendo, I believe. Basically, they're games about being demons.. and you go around recruiting other demons.. to help you fight demons and gods that want to kill you (including lucifer, kagatzuchi, beeazlebub, etc etc). Its really fun :D.

According to gorelab, the whole series was based off a nintendo game called megami tensei.. and THAT game was based off a novel.

Crazy. I've played the PS2 one, and the demon collecting is really awesome, as is the fusion, but I don't know, the battles never struck me as original at all, and I didn't get far enough in to see if the story goes anywhere. It wasn't bad when I stopped, it just hadn't gotten good yet. Oh, and "Dante for no reason!" pissed me off. Cheap marketing, that.

yeah, dante doesnt really fit at all. It KIND OF makes sense, because he's half demon and all.. but his attitude and style make him look completely out of place.
