People amaze me sometimes. I feel that I have been really lucky in the people I've met and surrounded myself with along the way. I don't know if I ever knew what kind of support system I've had until this past year ( Read more... )

You can always, ALWAYS call and ask for help, even if you just want someone to come over and spend some time with you. And how cool of your parents. I'm sure it will be a great relief having them around.

Just have a quick moment to say: We're here! and it *does* take a village. Glad that everything turned out okay.

I definitely know it's not easy to ask for help (at least not for me), but sometimes you just need someone(s) else to be the rational one so you can do the freaking out...or the other way around.

I don't like to ask for help. I know there are a lot of complicated issues related to this. But, I am working on it. I totally get this.

I am glad that your parents are moving closer. That is wonderful.

I'm the same way when it comes to asking for help. I feel like I have to do things on my own to prove myself to the world or something. But I'm glad you asked for your friend to be there. Even if you were okay, it's always scary going through something medically where you don't know the answer and friends are there for a reason: to support and love you ALWAYS.

As for your parents, do you really want to deny them their grandkid? Be a little selfish and be happy they're willing to be with your child and save you money. Sounds like a good way to keep family close to me and family is just as important, if not more so, than friends :-)

Thanks for the comment. And my parents have now officially rented an apartment. Their "real" home will still be a state away, but they're here for now. :)
