I always love it when I am around little kids and their parents. There is always this moment where the kids is making sounds, and I have NO idea what it means. Then their parent will translate, and it is obvious. It feels really good to know that there is always someone who totally get you!

Yes, it was pretty funny when she realized she was saying, "Get it!" and that I understood her and could fetch whatever she'd dropped. She laughed as though it was the greatest thing ever.

One of Pic's earliest words/phrases was "bajate!" (I have no idea how to make an inverted exclamation point preceding that word). It's funny to listen to babies and get a good idea of what others in their lives must say very often. (We were constantly telling Snuggles to get down off of the counters and tables.)

I have to translate less and less for Pic.

Did Ricardo speak much Spanish to her at first? Does she know any now? I find it interesting that my friend Jon's daughter has an intermingling of English and Spanish words in her vocab. Her mom is from Venezuela, and I think she and Jon speak both Spanish and English to their daugher, who has two names Ari (when being spoken to in Spanish) and Lucy (when being spoken to in English).

Um, no, not much Spanish around these parts. I try, but Cardo...I don't know what he's thinking.
