This past weekend Medievalists.net happened to post a link to an article in the journal of the national anthropology honor society: Barry, Stacy. "Berserker: A Ferocius Viking Warrior." Lambda Alpha Journal 33. 2003. pp. 2-9.

She's lucky that's all that she has coming. Unless I'm seriously mistaken, she could also be hit for violation of copyright. (Who owns the copyright? You? Texas A & M? The conference that put on the seminar at Ball State? The SCA?)

I have copyright. But to make much of a legal case I'd have to show monetary losses and it's not worth it.

However, she admitted in writing to having used my article under her name for a class in college, so I by golly reported her for academic dishonesty to the office of the Dean of Students.

The university has some VERY stringent rules against this sort of thing. And, of course, if she was this cavalier about ripping off my work, what do you want to bet she did it many other times with other people's articles?
