I ain't gonna squabble bout no 3.80. You're worth it and probably even a few cents more, seriously.
Also, Ryan...if you ask me, you're doing alright. Who cares about the reasons why people read it, it's the first step in getting it out there. I think you're workin it like a whore on Colfax. You don't know where Colfax is, but trust me, the whores there are greatly rewarded.

I know what you're saying. Everything out there that doesn't have mass appeal (which comics in general fall into and perhaps mine in particular) has to find its niche audience. I think its funny that I must play off of people's notions of Indy comic guys. I have to wear it like a badge on my jacket or something. It makes me feel a tad bit foolish.

Dude, badges...get badges, it's what The Girl Scouts was founded on...without those badges where would all those girls be now? If they had the "Indy comic guy badge" in Eagle Scouts, you'd probably be one of the only few who earned it...see, now how does that make you feel? Pretty good, huh?

to: my friend jaime this is the fucking funniest response in mid-thread i've read in a while. you're a riot, chic.
to: my friend ryan subsection a: "Most of the people that have read my comic don't read comics on a regular basis." this is the real problem, one which i think you address to the best of your ability when you get books in stores. if folks don't know how to read your comic because they don't read comics, then there's not much you can do. subsection B: i'm gonna make you an indie comic street cred button. i've got the press, my brother. don't think i won't.

I e-mailed one of my favorite independent bookstore ("Black and Read" on Myspace, located in Arvada, CO) here and explained your story. I asked if they'd be willing to carry about 10 copies, if they found it satisfactory after reading it. If they e-mail back and say "yes" is that cool? If not, I can make up an excuse for why it's not possible. I mean, fuck it...make this shit national.

Thats great Jaime. Every little bit counts. Right now I am spending more time trying to sell comics than making comics. Whatever I can't sell my mom is going to have to buy. My mom's poor and thats her beer money.

Yeah, you do not want the guilt of denying Debbie her beer on your shoulders. Shit, I think I once drank one of her beers and I'm still in therapy for the shame I felt. You better shag ass on this one, you don't want to be in therapy from being a child who doesn't contribute to his mom's alcohol abuse...tough one.
Yeah Dude, I heard back from Black and Read and they said to just bring em in....wooohoooo! They're gonna carry em, I think. So, let me know how you wanna hook dis up.
