This was a stupid idea. Any idea that had Nikolai standing out in the woods in the dark with two ladies, one of whom he didn't even know, and planning to pull off his shades really had to be a stupid idea. There was a reason he wore the damn things, after all. And a reason he hadn't gone back to Hollywood yet, for that matter. You get one blood

"Surprisingly I don't have that problem," Allie replied. "Go figure." Apparently mosquitoes weren't all that fond of A+ True Blood.

"A fine job that is, leaving me with your share of the hungry little bastards," Éponine mock-chided, and smacked at a mosquito on her forearm.

"Good lord!" she told the smear of insect on her hand before she wiped it off against a tree trunk. "I need that more than you do, I haven't got that much of it."

"So, remind me next time I decide to do something like this in the woods after dark, to pack bug spray. You ladies are here doing me a favor, and here we are spending more time swatting at bugs than anything."

And maybe stalling. A little.
