My Little Biopsy

I wore granny panties this morning. I didn’t know that 6 hours later I’d be posing contrapposto for my doctor. It’s funny how your breasts look when they’re sitting on your chest, soft-nippled, between you and a stranger. “Hey,” they seem to say in a shy voice ( Read more... )

i had a malignant mole removed from my shoulder in high school. i have a big scar on my back because the stiches popped out. weird little hairs pop out of it from time to time.

sorry, i forgot to log in. i think the hairs showed up because the scar didn't heal properly. also, your procedure sounds a little different from mine. your mole sounds as though it was raised and just had to be shaved off. mine was a birthmark and totally flat which meant that it had to be scooped out. local anesthetic and the only anguish i suffered was having to listen to the tearing of my flesh. i was supposed to let the scar heal for 4-5 weeks, but i was back to my athletics by the end of the week which caused the stiches to semi-painfully tear out of the skin. in fact, i don't think i even went back to have the stiches removed. so don't worry about the hairs, i think that was unique to my negligence. did you get stiches?

oh, and incidentally, a study reported about on the bbc last week linked women's sun exposure to a LOWER incidence in breast cancer. so you're damned if you and damned if you don't.

awwww, is Haris your name for them?? cute benny! yeah mine was raised, she just sliced it right off. ha i just accidentally wrote "oww" instead of "off." anyway hopefully she won't need to bring me in for more scoopin' -- though it's a possibility. no stiches yet.

that's really bizarre, about the study. is it because of the vitamins you get from sun exposure or something? speaking of which there was this crazy trading spouses last week with this vegan hippie who was into "sun gazing" -- where you stare directly into the sun for nourishment instead of eating. she said she thinks it will solve world hunger. because, you know, starving countries don't already have...sun.

oh girl..i know you'll be ok, b/c even in the worst case scenerio, it's totally treatable, and i think it's likely nothing. but i understand how the thought of this is just scary and unsettling.
love you!

yeah totally! i actually appreciate that sentiment because i feel ridiculous/childish worrying about it (since the chances are so slim that it'll be a problem), but at the same time, IT'S A POSSIBILITY.
