Has anyone ever used this?

Does it work? I have super dry hair...in fact, i chopped most of it off last night to alleviate the "witch wig" feeling i've been carrying around for the past month. you know, those horrible drugstore witch wigs kids buy for halloween?

Yeah. My stylist recommended this ridiculously expensive silicone serum (Barex ( Read more... )

never tried the vo5 but that i'd put olive oil on the ends before i did that stuff!

i think you should stop warshing yer hair every day!

i use a tiny bit of b&b coco conditioner and terax honey shampoo, or i switch with some hotel shampoo that seems to strip my hair of products. but my hair is a greaseball if i go one day without warshing. yes, i said warshing.

olive oil! i have that! i can do that! but i wonder if those oil treatments, and products in general, are all just bandaids...temporarily giving the illusion of moisture. eh but what do i want, hair from those pantene commercials? and i actually dont warsh every day, i'm an every-other-day-ponytailer. :\

I've actually used that product a lot, back when I had my own version of the price valium. I always thought it did nothing but make my head greasy, but maybe i used it wrong?

Nope, I have never used that. There is something called K-Pak that I had to use when my hairdresser kept me under the dryer for too long (as a platinum blonde) that worked really well. I find Aussie's 3-Minute Miracle/Moist conditioner to be kind of similar to K-Pak (which is like $20 for a 12oz tube).

Definitely what Viv said - don't wash your hair every day! But then it is also imporant to brush it as well to distribute the oils. Sometimes I "rinse" my hair and then condition, no shampoo if it is particularly dry (or I am particularly lazy).

i actually don't wash every day, i'm kind of a dirtball. and i never really shampoo my ends, just the roots. the only thing i know i do wrong is blow-dry. k-pak, eh? i'll look into it.

its funny you bring this up... novaeris September 20 2006, 21:03:30 UTC
i was wondering the exact same thing b/c i remember the "hot oil help" commercials from when i was like 3 years old but yeah.... I thought about trying it to when my ends were all scraggly but then i just hacked it all off :p

i had a hard time finding good moisturizing conditioners - especially b/c a lot of high end stuff has fragrance etc. that will dry your hair out more (ie. aveda is notorious for this, but their product smelly so yummy!!!)

one thing I used the last time I had long hair was Biolage leave-in conditioner. that helped a lot & its not too expensive.

also i *love* frederik fekkai products - the glossing cream conditioner is really nice but I bet if you got one specifically for dry hair it would work wonders. ive only used a couple things (in travel sizes) but if its any indication, then I bet all his products are really amazing. downside is that his shit is EXPENSIVE :/

good luck! ;)
