`oh, my heart broken friend--document, document, document. write it down. spend time getting it chronologically correct, and write down every detail. take some time to do it. and find out who s.b.'s boss is, who their boss is, and who the head of the board of directors is, and send copies to all fo them. and send a copy to the patient representative/ombudsman. and if that doesn't do the trick, alert the media. literally. there has to be a feature reporter, a human interest reporter, even a freelance (citypages, star trib, pioneer press, etc) that will give you an ear. with the cost of medical care being what it is, this would figure into any series they are doing. (i amm going through the same process of documentation on hubby's behalf. there were screw-ups that almost cost him his life. i don't know what people do that don't have an advocate in their corner. yeah. do it. people need to know, and the s.b. should not be allowed to be inhumane, incompetent, indifferent. it is easy to become jaded. maybe she needs a kick ( ... )

Yes. This. This is a wise person. If you do not speak up to the sb, to her boss, then she will not shape up, she will not do better by the next person, she may do much worse.
