Wine & Art

The Saint Paul Art Crawl starts at 6pm tonight!

I usually find a mention of the Art Crawl a week after the fact. This year I found it a full 4 hours before it started!

Going to France 44 wine store from 4:30 to 6ish and then the Art Crawl from 6ish to 10.

Wish I didn't feel like shit, but I don't want to miss Art Crawl again.

if you get as far as the tilsner building, say "hi" to cece--aka "goldleaf goddess". she has an apartment there, and is a working artist. she does "cave painting" horses, and abstractions. have a great time! haven't done the crawl since cant remember when--i think the youngest kid was still in college (yes, one of two art majors in the family...)

I saw the cave painting horse pieces--they were wonderful. But I was too shy to say hello.

How are you related/known to the artist? I'm trying to imagine introducing myself:

"Hi, I'm Gunthar--well that's not my real name." "I'm a friend of abbie normal--you probably don't know her by that name." "Well, no, I've never actually met her--I just follow her online." "'Crazed internet stalker'? Well that's kind of a harsh description, but I make it a point never to argue with a lady with a full can of pepper spray."

she is a friend from the intarweb--i met her when she was out west, doing art, and learning how to live after exiting an emotionally abusive relationship that had lasted for years. she moved back here, to mn, as part of her healing. she knows me as "abbie_normal" from lj, and "admom" from email--and my real name, too. we have "known" each other for several years, and still never had a face to face. she's good people, and does beautiful art! i have a couple of her small things--i love the horses!!

I wish I'd seen this before you crawled (I'm assuming you have). If you come through the Lowertown Artists Lofts sometime you should knock on our door and see if we're home. We're #306.

I only got through most of the Tilsner before I got too wobbly to continue. I'll keep you in mind for next time.
