I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!
You ask the hard questions!!!!guntowngirlOctober 16 2008, 11:05:39 UTC
After living with my x for a year - he would not move out of the house that my parents helped us buy. The pressure for me was unbearable. I knew I had a job waiting for me - I didn't have to move that far away but I thought that moving far would eliminate the pressure. It did to some extend, but added different pressures. *Smile*
At first, I thought, "What have I done?" Now - I am grateful I followed my gut. I love it here. I have always loved the sea and it's ability to humble me and sooth me.
Yesterday, after work, I drove around taking photo's. I will try to post some after work today. I do love driving around like a gypsy and taking photo's of the beauty that catches my eye. I think you do too!
I love gardening - which I was lax this summer but I think it is more like therapy for me and keeps me grounded. (no pun intended!)
I try to read something each day. My favorite book right now is "Courage to Change"; I also recently finished my beach book which was "Eat, Pray and love" - I highly recommend it.
I am trying to crochet a blanket for my soon to be born grandson which this lefty is not doing a very 'straight' job. It will be unique that is for sure.
I often sit outside after work, with one of my books and give myself at least a 1/2 hr to read something that helps me keep perspective before I put on my wife hat and cook dinner.
I learned the hard way. I watched right handed people and figured it out left. I can knit too but I haven't for years. It goes too slow for me and crochet goes way faster! (or course, it could be how tight I hold the yarn!)
As a young child, I hated school mainly because the nuns took 4 years to make me right handed. It seemed like nothing mattered but trying to write with my right hand.
As the years rolled by, I enjoyed math a great deal because it was easy for me and I only had to write numbers! In HS, I enjoyed math and the Sciences. I especially loved physics because the teacher would stay to all hours in the lab if you brought her coke for fridge. I also enjoyed designing the yearbook. There was only a few who worked on it so we all had great input in each edition.
I have three children. My oldest, Kevin, is married and about to become a father in about 3 weeks. He is 34. Jenna is 29 and Dustin is 28. Jenna lives with me and both Kevin and Dustin live in PA.
I don't see them as often as I like. Jenna and I are going to drive down when the baby is born. *smile* I am excited about that.
Dustin has a house and a new job; a dog that someone couldn't keep but now they may want Sheba back. *sigh* This kid isolates some and he loves the dog.
Jenna is taking a course in human services and so far is doing excellent.
oh......... and my dog, Peanut - she is so like my child and the best behaved!

I do like to read - I don't get a lot of time anymore.
I read "Eat, Pray, Love" this summer. It was my beach book.
I often do a lot of reading in the recovery books which doesn't leave a lot of time for other stuff!
You?
hugs
Linda
