We have 30 degrees one day and 75 the next. We usually get no more than 5 inches of snow for the entire winter season. Every morning as we sit at the kitchen table and look out the bay window there are literally dozens of red cardinals on the tree in our courtyard. Marcia throwns lots -n- lots of bird seed out ther.
Lots of cardinals would be nice to see. We have a few of them that live around here in the woods; a couple of blue jays - beautiful but nasty - a woodpecker or two.
I just got my associate's degree in elementary education. That was Dec. 12th. No I start going to Northeastern State University which is about 35 minutes from here. I registered and classes start this coming Wednesday.
My son Adam wants to get back to school but wants to work for awhile before starting college.
Vernon is still here but physically frail. His memory is almost completely shot. He thinks he is just visiting. He sits up at 3 am and spends he rest of his night in the study staring at the wall.
Marcia is looking for work. She has been doing accounting work out of the house but wants to work outside the home. We have a health aide fellow (age 41) who comes Mon thru Fri from * am till 4:30. He cares for Vernon, plays with him, does exercises with him, feeds him and even does some housework for us.
That's an update of what is going on down here. What is new in your area?
Congrats on your degree!! Going for a Masters? Specific fiend?
Adam is smart. Here in RI and MA - if you are going to school for anything you can substitute teach on breaks and such. It help Meg have some extra $ while in school.
When I started my job, they were on ALL paper. Just setting them up took forever and there I stayed! Just to get out of the house will do her well!
JM is great. Coming on one year in recovery. She's past the six month in her chemo so that's good too! She went back to school - took one class and aced it!
Me - I am not nuts anymore and I have a beautiful grandson!
I am glad to hear that JM is recovering! Nothing new here, Linda. I wish there was. Julia will be married in less than 3 months and she has not yet spoken to us nor will she. She seems hell bent on her path of destruction and revenge. Manolo and I are so very sad but we have to live.
Our weather has been strange ... shorts & t's one day, sweats the next. Mom would call it "pneumonia weather." I don't miss the snow tho. Stay warm, my friend!
Supposedly we get REAL snow on Tuesday. Tomorrow! I am not getting excited about it because so far all we get is wintry mix and dry snow that blows about. I mean, you can still see the grass snow! And its freezing here! I don't rem. the last time a winter was this cold here! Well, enjoy your snow.

I think they must stay all winter. Or maybe they're telling you that winter will soon be over. Nature is wise.
How are you?

The icon with the cardinal is beautiful. I have two that come around all winter long.
Quiet night here.
JM is doing well. Treatment is slowing her down but her recovery is moving forward.
