Oh, now see? Now I have to reread them. I recall that I liked them very much way back when. And you know who else liked that series as well as The Mirror of Her Dreams? Manwoody. So you know you are in good company.

I liked the first set but didn't like the second, as I recall. I think I read them early in college, like 12 years ago.

Foamfollower is a terrific character, and is instrumental to one of the most unique and memorable climaxes I've ever read. I actually think the Second Chronicle is a bit stronger, in that Donaldson's craft was improved (and his strange verbiage toned down ... well, a little bit anyways), but the first is underrated these days.
