... Even if Piyomon wasn't my partner...we share something. A connection. I'm just a kid, but I know... I love him. I'll fight for his world no matter what.

That may be true for most tamers, but my partners came with me to this world. The only reason one of them is a digimon is because the shape was imposed on her. The only reason we're obligated to do anything for this world is because we're here, and that's ... not really much to go on.
But I can tell you that back home the situation isn't all that different, sometimes. We have a different kind of 'mon, but a lot of them look on humans with suspicion or hostility, and with good reason. It's actually what we did, before; there's an organisation in our world who views 'mon only as tools, mistreating and even experimenting on them. My partners and I opposed them. It's been ... a bit of a role-reversal, coming here.

... I see.
I can kind of relate. For a while, the kind of world I lived in... my people were conquered by another power, and treated as second class citizens. In war, my comrades and I were treated as pawns... in many, complicated ways...

A lot of other people here probably have similar stories, too. I don't know whether to find it comforting or depressing that people are the same the universe over--when they're not even the same kind of being half the time.

... But getting too torn up on differences is bad on its own, too.
