I know…I've neglected my journal and my friends' page :( I don't even remember the last time I read your post-I think you were just engaged?

I've been trying to get this writing comm. writing_cocs I started up and running. It's a bit quiet ATM, but the people who are there seem to appreciate it.

What's been up with you…um, since like a year ago?

:D!

Ok, that's a really awesome. The community I mean. I'll direct my fiance your way, because he's a writer, and I imagine that he'll probably really like that comm. It's strange how it's actually hard for people to write about poc.

But aaah, not much has been up. Started some locs (that you can see in my icon). That's about it though. Haha!

Yeah, it can be hard-even for other POC. The most recent post is a video by Chimamanda Adichie explaining her process of overcoming the "single story" (i.e., white upper-middle class European/American) and learning how to write about her own experiences as a Nigerian. It's a really thoughtful video, though it's probably more like preaching to the choir if you watch it :)

I'm liking the locs, but I must say that I'm pretty jealous. I've always considered getting locs, but I feel like I'd be committed to it for-evah, or have to chop it all off if I want a change.

Oh, and I peeped your journal (Got a lot of catching up to do!), but yay, you've got one more semester left!
