I am going through my ballot, and looking up people, so far everything has made sense until I compared the 4 candidates for Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor District 3.

The Candidates:
Klatte
Torell
Wisker
Workcuff

One of these candidates is not like the other...can you tell which one?

That Wisker fool doesn't have a double letter-ed name

This might be a 'duh' thing, but Wisker would get my vote, based strictly on those four pages. He's got direct qualifications for the position and used his "important issue" paragraph to speak to a direct problem that the official elected to that position needs to address. Torell doesn't look bad either from a qualifications perspective, and has a lengthier record in public service -- but the snowmobile/ATV thing makes me nervous about his commitment to conservation. There just isn't a lot of detail about Klatte, and Workcuff doesn't even seem to know what position he's running for, except, oh yeah, he agrees that funding should be allocated toward the thing he would be supervising.

Although you didn't actually link to Wisker -- just to Klatte, twice.

My bad. Fixed it :)

And, I am in agreement with you, except slightly more outraged at Workcuff.

Election results: Wisker won, Torell came in second, Klatte third, Workcuff fourth. Exactly the order I would have ranked them had it been IRV.

Most important issue facing soil and water conservation: gay marriage.

So. Why the hell is this an elected position?

Gay marriage...fantastic.

That Torrel guy seems pretty good. I think his experience with snowmobiles and ATVs works in his favor, since responsible users have a vested interest in conserving the natural environment. It's not like the majority are out there just tearin' shit up for the hell of it.
