I need a spring/fall coat too. I only have a fleece but that's too casual and not good for Spring anyway. I used to have a cute short trench style, but I outgrew it.

I find what is tough is that there are so few jackets that are both warm + waterproof, but not winter jackets and not super light raincoats. I end up layering a lot with fleece and/or a jean jacket and/or a waterproof shell.

I'm just too damn picky.  Some day I will fond something. I do like Lands End and I will check it out. Our local Sears is tiny now that Whole Foods took over more than half of it so I'm not sure if they will have anything.
