Those of you who know me know I've got nearly zero fondness for presidential candidate John Edwards, nor am I surprised by just about anything in what passes for public discourse these days, but this statement in a speech delivered today and broadcast on C-SPAN managed to shock jaded old me:

We just saw that clip on MSNBC. Not all that amazing really considering the source and the venue.

I just hope I am around when whatever skeletons she has in her deep, dark, delusional closet come out.

it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot’...

here's what my first reaction is:
"what if you just use the word 'bitch'?"

but then I think about the declining level of public discourse, and how I'm supposed to be grown-up and well-brought-up and all the other ups, and I guess I can't say it.
