Soooo, just got back yesterday from my week in the Tokyo metro area (Yokohama/Tokyo). Before I forget everything that happened, I will at least jot down the abbreviated version (or it may end up being the full version, if I never get around to actually typing out more XD)
I headed out to Yokohama on Wednesday morning at about 7ish. This was after talking to my friend Sami, my grandmother, and my mother on the phone and then packing (which kept me awake until ~4:30 or so). Got my 2 hours of sleep, woke up, showered and was out the door to make my 7:40 train.
***A note about this. I usually take the express trains that run about 2:15 or so to get to Shinjuku in Tokyo. This time, in the interest of saving some money, I figured wtf, I'll just take the slower local trains. A miserable idea that turned out to be. They were buuuusy so I ended up having to stand (when I was hoping to pass out and catch a little extra sleep) and I had to transfer 3 times. It was the same train line the whole way, but I still had to wait over an hour between all the transfers. So I think I got into Yokohama station at about 12:30 or so...with no more sleep***
Anyways, my friend was late meeting me at the station, we met this other japanese guy that she knew from the net (apparently at one point in time she was enamored with the idea of a Japanese husband), and then made our way to Zushi beach area. When we got there I wanted to put my bags in a locker, and the only one was on the bottom row, right next to where this ancient oba-chan was standing. She apparently stood and stared the entire time I was messing with the damn thing trying to get it to take my money.(picture on facebook via Ashley's page).
We got to the area for the concert pretty late and we had seen it was 8,000 yen (about 80 bucks). We eventually decided to not actually buy tickets for just a few hours of groups that we only knew 2 of. It was still a nice area, and a lot of fun anyways, we could see and hear great from just outside of the area (and so did a bunch of other people XD).
Afterwards we headed to china town area in Yokohama. It seems like a really interesting place and I'd like to go back sometime when stuff is actually open! We did eat there (amazing Chinese food...I want more!) and we survived it as well (our waitress was a meeeean Chinese lady that we joked about her poisoning our food).
That's the first day, aaaaaand I'll start posting more later this evening probably, I'm just sidetracked by the net atm!
