Iowa is great, politically. We have legal gay marriage, a competitive legislature, and, I thought until recently, a relative lack of bible thumpers.

There was recently a controversy over bus ads in Des Moines. The controversial ad? "Don't beleive in God?

Are you kidding me? I've only been to Iowa (Coralville) three times and I felt the vibrations of bible thumping like some sort of epically scaled drum band was playing.
I'm not surprised by something like this at all.

Never been to Coralville. All I can say is, In all 30 years I've lived here, I've only ever had 2 proselytizers come to my door.

Eh, Iowa is progressive socially, but they are still in Bible country. And to be quite frank, the statement is rather inflammatory. The phrase could have easily been "Atheist? You're not alone."
