that reminds of when i was in newark, delaware right after the program ended and i expected it to be like an in-beteween of nyc and philly but its just another hicky place. so i was at my cousin's and he basically owns like a farm with a pond in his backyard and THEY HAD NO TV AND NO DSL AND THE CONNECTION WAS FUCKED UP. and i was there for a week, and it was a long painful death
Oh man, that's the worst without proper preoccupation. I used to go up to Vermont with my best friend at this kind of a camp/resort thing (the fam would come too), and the whole idea is that it's this property right near Lake Champlain so "groups" (that are grouped together based on age) do camp-like stuff, without it really being camp. You know, run in the woods, swim in the lake, hang out with people in the lounge, camp out, play kick the can. All that shit. No internet or cable or TV or anything -- even cell phones -- but no one really cares, cause it's fun.
However, on a full-on family outing with no technology, it can be fucking HELL.
