On Google Earth, that looks a bit up the hill; I haven't been able to attend in years (and this year is not different), so I can't say for sure, but does that mean camping is up the hill from the sands, instead of on them? (Last time I went was the first or second year you camped there, before MacLain lost its popularity.)

Close enough to see the sands! I think I may have chosen the coordinates of the overlook between the stampsands and the parking lot, where I might build the castle. But I can't print the exact coordinates of my tent here for security purposes.

I realise that this might be a tad early, but have you decided on a date for next year? P and I both find it harder to book a lengthy vacation (ie more than a week or so) without an increasingly long lead time.
