-- Mmph.
[The fansuwoth clatters, shaking for a moment before fuzzily clearing. On the ground, tilted up, there's a pretty girl with long dark hair shoved into a cloak on her hands and knees, a basket lying upside down beside her. All around, various items of fruit have spilled, some still rolling across the wet grass. The rain obscures the screen a

The fact that she had turned him away when he stopped by earlier in the week hadn't helped, and now neither does the video. He's only vaguely aware of the possibility of a curse, presently, although he has little doubt, regardless. Yuuki has never been like this. Never been one to linger when it came to the tattoo issue, either- he clearly remembers what she said to him when they first came to their agreement on the matter.
... and he doesn't - however irrelevant as it may be to his and her personal situation - like the way that client of hers acts towards Yuuki. ]
Yuuki... what happened?
[He may have a strong idea of what it could be, but still it's a solid question, even if he's not feeling especially comfortable, himself. The ink of his tattoo has begun to seep out from its line, curling up toward ( ... )

Zero...
Her stomach twists. Swallowing, she lingers in silence above the device, heart beating and pounding against what her head warns her to do. It's only been a few days since she turned him away once attempting to visit her. Knuckles white, her fingers clutch into the skirts of her dress, bangs dipping down to veil her eyes.]
. . . You shouldn't speak to me so much, Zero.

Whatever traces of doubt he may have had? Gone.
Still, he hates the way it aches. He hates the contradictions even in her body language, alone; how upset she appears and sounds.
... The irony behind it all is almost bitterly humorous, yet not unlike an icy smack to the face. Perhaps at home he could take it as a taste of his own medicine; it would make sense, at least, compared to what's become of their life, here...]
Yuuki.
[Firm. Frustrated, hurt, confused; there's a number of emotions behind it. One of his own hands is grasping against the corner of his bed frame, the wood giving a sharp sounding crack under the pressure.]
When did all this begin? Why are you doing this?

I'm so sorry, Zero...
This isn't what she wants. Glancing away she draws a breath, fighting with the orders that ring in her mind. I'm just talking...and not even in person. Her teeth clench. She has to speak with Aidou and tell him this can't continue.]
I was told not to see you.

You know...
[It's amusing, in a way. His jaw is tight, shoulders tense, though he's slumped against the wall. It's some curse, then, of course. Right? Because how very unlike Yuuki is this...
The corners of his mouth sit at the edge of a sharp smirk. His suspicions really only point to two.]
If Ichiru pulled something like this again...

[Meaning, she hasn't seen him, recently. Somehow every time she sees him he manages to spike her irritation. Uncomfortable she tugs on the strange rope sitting around her throat, until now mostly hidden beneath the collar of her dress.]
. . . Just forget about it. [Unwittingly protective of master. A great deal of it has to do with the curse, but... she doesn't want life to be hard on him, either. Not after recently, at home. Although certainly...the orders, somehow, need to be nullified.]

So it was that other brat.

[ . . . ] -- Normally. I mean, he...er... [Falling short on the defense. Change in subject.]
Listen, Zero... You're not outwardly very friendly or easy to approach for most. Mostly you're really cold and grumpy. Really...grumpy. [No malice...]
[She gives a small sigh.] He's just...worrying about me. Even if his intentions are misdirected.

He'd be too selfish to say anything in regards to himself, and the whole tattoo issue, however. Likewise for his lack of tablets. Still, what does this have to do with him and his own behavior?
There may not be any malice in her tone, but there's definitely an edge to his, albeit ambiguous.]
Worrying is different than completely cutting off all means of communication, Yuuki. He still has no idea what this place is even like.

[Once more there's frustration. Internally battling with herself. The desire to do as he says obediently contrasts the desires within her heart. How to fight the compulsion that binds her, though?
... Is this what it feels like? Like being on the receiving end of a pureblood's ability to bend someone's will? Rubbing at her blurry eyes she leans onto a hand, voice low, apologetic.]
I'm sorry-- I... I shouldn't be-- [Her words cut off, sighing in irritation at herself. This is so much more stupidly difficult than she wants it to be.]
It's difficult to speak to you right now.

He closes his eyes for a few moments, head tipped, his jaw tight. A silent exhale later, he looks to her again. I'll be having a talk with that idiot after this. The glare has faded from his gaze, but irritation remains, a subtle glimmer of frustration and hurt written between knit brows.]
Fine. ...Hopefully it'll end soon, then. For both our sakes.
[One last, lingering look, and he disconnects.]
